Open source and open standards

Weik.io is open source under the Apache License 2.0, and it uses open standards where your integrations meet other systems: Apache Camel for integrations, OpenAPI for APIs, OpenID Connect for sign-in and OpenTelemetry for logs, metrics and traces.

The licence

The Apache License 2.0 lets you use Weik.io, change it and distribute it, in commercial use too, with no licence fee. Every feature is in the open source Weik.io, and no paid edition has more.

The copyright holder is Adafy Oy. Every image of the platform contains the licence as /LICENSE and the notice as /NOTICE, which starts with these lines.

Standards and where they're used

StandardWhere Weik.io uses it
Apache CamelIntegrations are Camel routes in YAML, XML or Java, with Camel's components and kamelets
OpenAPIThe platform's HTTP API is described in OpenAPI, and integrations call other APIs from their OpenAPI documents with Camel's rest-openapi component
OpenTelemetry and OTLPLogs, metrics and traces from every integration, and forwarding to your own systems
OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0Sign-in with Microsoft Entra ID or any OpenID Connect provider, API subscriptions with tokens, and upstream authentication
The S3 APIBackup copies, and destinations of file transfers
SFTP and FTPSources and destinations of file transfers
The Prometheus text formatThe metrics page of every process of the platform
JSON SchemaA schema for every YAML document kind, for validation in your editor

Open source inside every image

Every image contains /LICENSE, /NOTICE and /THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt. The third-party notices list every component of others that the image contains, with its licence and the licence and notice files the component ships. Each release checks the licence of everything it ships before it is published.

Third-party software in 2026.2 lists the open source projects inside the images with their versions and licences.

Terminal
$ docker run --rm --entrypoint cat weikio/weikio-backend:2026.2.1 /NOTICE
$ docker run --rm --entrypoint cat weikio/weikio-backend:2026.2.1 /THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt

If you stop using Weik.io

Your integrations are Camel files in your own repository, and weikio export writes everything else as YAML that applies to any Weik.io installation. Under the Apache License 2.0 your installation keeps running whatever you buy or stop buying.
